The radio lobes are filled with material from the nucleus of Centaurus A. The lobes are much hotter at their edges. These ΓÇ£hotspotsΓÇ¥ seem to form where the jet of fast-moving material ΓÇ£slams on the brakes,ΓÇ¥ so to speak. Once the material has halted, it flows back, filling the lobes.
